Insta-week in review

I love Instagram (grab it here for apple products if you haven't got it). I should make a t-shirt that proclaims that loudly to the world. My kid needs an 'As Seen on Instagram' tee too.

For me it is like Twitter but in photos, short stop journalling the easy way all combined with photography which I also happen to love. So without further ado...

Monday: We were supposed to have a lovely picnic with another mummy and her daughter but it rained so we went to a fab pizza place. Little Man loved the pizza!

Tuesday: Monkeying around at lunch time with sammies (sandwiches).

Wednesday: A much needed 'house hunting break' coffee and a sandwich. Also we made yummy Valentines Day heart cakes of which Little Man sampled too! Seriously this batter tastes amazing!

Thursday: Grocery shopping, should we buy this 5kg tub of Nutella? Yes please (no we didn't). Playtime with friends in the playground, Little Man being taken for a spin on a trike! Also found a lovely 'Beach' sign for a friend moving back to the UK to remind them of the gorgeous Sydney Beach they live opposite.

Friday: No IG friday! Very unusual for me!

Saturday: Our little friend's birthday party! Lots of fun although it rained and turned from a playground party to an apartment party. We spent the afternoon down at Grandma and Grandpa's place playing with Daddy and Uncle Kieran's skateboard was lots of fun.

Sunday: Busy day started off with Surf Club mid year review then off to a gorgeous engagement party for good friends. We finished off the day chilling out at home, it feels like a long time since we've been home all together!

Valentines Day Craft - Baby hands heart art

We don't 'do' Valentines Day in this house, partly because I believe that love should be celebrated everyday. This doesn't mean I don't love this special little holiday but it does mean that Hubby doesn't have to bring home flowers or chocolates, we get them when we visit markets and do our weekend rounds! And we all know there is enough chocolate in this house to sink a ship.

Anyway, back on task!

I do love Valentines day art. Art that celebrates love and happiness is not only lovely but important. We want Little Man to know that love is celebrated daily and widely in our home.

Trying this on for size...

I've been searching on Etsy for a web designer who has pre-packaged, pre-made, only slightly customisable blogger templates and yes, I have found a few that I like.

However, we are in the midst of selling our little house and looking to buy something a little bigger and pennies are being watched closely. Very closely. Pinched you might say...

So tonight with Hubby away and Little Man in dreamland I've been teaching myself how to use Photoshop more, explored PicMonkey (HELLO! Love you!) and Blogger itself. What I am left with is what you see.

A new header created with PicMonkey and 'logo' (I use this term loosely!) made in PSD and a slightly better layout that suits me more.

So there you have it.

The header happens to feature one of my (many thousands of) favourite photos of my Little Man. Here is the full shot. Taken in our local park in the arms of my dad.

Busy, busy, busy!

Just a little quick stop in. We've had a busy weekend and its only half way through!

Little Man and I visited some open houses yesterday as we gear up to find our next home (exciting!!) then headed to the beach where Hubby was competing at Ocean Thunder. Due to the storms and pressure systems that have been whipping the east coast of Australia (and wrecking havoc on the far north east coast of Queensland!) the carnival was called off as the waves were huge and very messy (and there was a fair lack of emergency support available). So we hung out at the beach and had a coffee then headed to evening event for the carnival where our dear mate Yap was honoured as champion of champions amongst the surf boat community! So exciting!

As an added to get Little Man to sleep at the event I took him for a short walk around the Collaroy headland and there are some amazing houses! I love the pelican wall art on this place. LM was a champion yesterday, napping in the car then in his pram, then back asleep in the car to go home. I'm one proud mama!
